Just who is "Ask Damascus" really?
Let's start by hearing from Ask Damascus's founder:
Ask Damascus would like you to believe they are just a local group supporting local
issues. However the trail of money shows something quite different. Ask Damascus
accepted almost $12,000 in campaign contributions for the prior Damascus election.
Special interest groups, primarily Americans For Prosperity, paid over $10,500
of that total.
How much support came from within Damascus? Less than $1,000 from just five
citizens!
But that's not all AFP is providing according to a recent Oregonian article:
Logistical and financial support came from Kropf's Americans for Prosperity Oregon.
"They had already gathered the signatures they needed," Kropf said. "But there's
a big difference between gathering names on petitions and running a political campaign.
That's where we came in."
And yet AFP continues to lie when confronted about their involvement ...
ORESTAR, the states election reporting system says differently. You can see the
truth on the ORESTAR Website.
