Save Damascus

Promoting honest and efficient local government with balanced application among Damascus’ eight core values is the purpose behind this diverse group of local citizens who form the local group called "Save Damascus".

Promoting the Core Values developed by Damascans:
Prior to incorporation Damascus faced questions regarding governance and how it was going to plan smart and effectively for growth. Over a multi-year period citizens came together to discuss and develop eight Core Values around which plans for Damascus’ growth are to be based.

The eight Core Values created through citizen input are:

  1. Well designed communities and core areas
  2. Effective transportation systems
  3. Employment and economy
  4. Governance
  5. Rural character
  6. Sense of community
  7. Environmental responsibility and protected special places
  8. Economic fairness
